Update 19th January 2022

Talking Heads by Alan Bennett has been moved to run from Tuesday 8th March to Saturday 12th March 2022

Update 5th January 2022

COVID Update

Following the recent announcement introducing social distancing to help reduce the spread of Covid and the Omicron variant we have been forced to postpone the shows in February and June.

Moving to a show where barely a quarter of those booked would be able to watch leaves us in an impossible position. We also, of course, put our audience and our team’s safety above all.

We will be in touch shortly with everyone affected to offer a full refund.

Thank you for your continued support

Update 10th December 2021

Our next two productions will be:-

Tickets will initially be sold online and will be available soon.

Future Plans

We hope to have a full season starting in September 2022 which will include such plays as The Graduate, The Revlon Girl and The Darling Buds of May. We will also be announcing our annual Pantomime, Cinderella. Please keep an eye on our website and social media platforms for further details coming soon.

Update 9th September 2021

Our roadmap out of shutdown

The health and well-being of our members and patrons is our top priority, and we are planning to work towards a truly safe environment for everyone, even though it means taking a cautious approach.

After much discussion, we have decided there will be no pantomime this year. It was a very, very difficult decision. We all wanted the pantomime to go ahead but we felt the risks and difficulties involved were too great to take the chance.

We will look forward to hopefully being able to stage our usual all-singing, all-dancing fun extravaganza in 2022 and give the audience a 40th Anniversary Cinderella to remember.

There will be an in-house production, in the auditorium, late autumn, to which all members will be invited. This will be run as close to a ‘normal’ production as possible.

If this is satisfactory we will have a 5 night public production early in 2022, followed by a Youth Theatre show.

And eventually, in late spring we should be able to present a full production.

Update 14th July 2020

Cinderella Refunds

If you have purchased tickets for this year's pantomime Cinderella, we are pleased to announce details of our refund policy:

Update 1st July 2020

Cinderella Cancellation

We are so sorry to tell you that we are cancelling this year's pantomime Cinderella.

We've not taken this decision lightly - it's our favourite time of year: welcoming everyone involved and everyone who comes to enjoy the singing, dancing, lights, music, costumes and laughter.

Putting on such a large production simply isn't practical, and may not be safe, whilst we are still social distancing.

Although December feels a long way off, we would usually start rehearsing soon after the summer and we don't see that being possible this year.

We will be in touch with everyone who has purchased tickets within the next 14 days regarding your options.

Please bear with us while we sort everything out.

Thank you for your patience.

If you would like to get in touch, please send an email to info@groveparktheatre.co.uk

We will always attempt to respond to your emails within a few days. If you have not heard from us, please contact us again as your email may not have arrived.

Update 6th June 2020

New Season 2020 to 2021

Dear Grove Park Theatre (GPT) Supporter

We hope that you and yours are well and safe

A key question facing every theatre, professional or amateur, is when shall we be able to stage live performances again within the constraints of social distancing?

With some reduction of the restrictions of social distancing we thought it was the right time to update you on our plans.

We have decided that currently the earliest live theatre we could hope to stage would be Cinderella scheduled for December 2020.

This is a fast-moving situation. Our current view on the "re-start" date could move (forward or backward) depending on progress fighting the virus and Government advice. We shall be monitoring the Government guidance very carefully and will post updates if the situation changes.

Our aim is to get live theatre up and running at GPT as soon as we can, always bearing in mind the safety and well-being of our patrons and members.

Thank you for supporting Grove Park Theatre. Stay safe and we hope to see you back at GPT as soon as we safely can.

Kind Regards - Val, Chairman of GPT

We ask you to avoid contacting the theatre directly. The Box Office will remain closed until further notice and we will not be able to receive phone calls. If you would like to get in touch, please send an email to info@groveparktheatre.co.uk

Further details of our new season and membership will be published here as it becomes available

Update 19th March 2020

Following the recommendation from the UK government on March 16, it is with great sadness we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the rest of the season at Grove Park Theatre. For the first time in our history we are unable to complete our season.

We ask all ticket holders to avoid contacting the theatre directly. The Box Office will remain closed until further notice and we will not be able to receive phone calls. If you would like to get in touch, please send an email to info@groveparktheatre.co.uk

Grove Park Theatre is a Society made up of members who give of their time freely and without financial reward. Grove Park does not have any employees. We have relied on the good will of our audience to sustain our activities since 1925 and now, more than ever, we ask for your patience and good will during these unprecedented times.

As most of our audience is aware Grove Park is a registered charity, number 505339, and relies on the income from all of our productions to survive. The income that would have been generated by the final three productions of the season is irreplaceable and will considerably affect the cash flow for the rest of the season.

As we are unable to complete our season we propose to adopt the following policy

We cannot stress enough that any acts of kindness from our audience would be most welcome in helping Grove Park provide quality live entertainment to the community, as we have done for the last 95 years.

We would like to thank our audience members for their support and understanding at this difficult time and we look forward to welcoming you back to Grove Park Theatre in the future.

Grove Park Theatre Executive
