by Joseph Kesselring.
Immortalised in Frank Capraís classic movie, Arsenic and Old Lace is a timeless, farcical black comedy that was a massive hit on Broadway and in the West End.
The play tells the story of Mortimer Brewster, a New York drama critic who is surrounded by bizarre relatives, not least his charming and innocent elderly aunts who have taken to poisoning lodgers and burying their bodies in the cellar.
Add to these decrepit Crippens a brother with an identity crisis and a whole collection of memorable characters and you have a season opener thatís bound to welcome in the autumn with rip-roaring laughter.
This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Limited.
