Grove Park Theatre stands in premises on Hill Street, Wrexham, which were purpose built for and by society members in 1954.
The auditorium was refurbished in 1999 and contains 170 seats, including one wheelchair space, in a rake up from the stage to the rear of the auditorium. The front (‘apron’) of the stage can be removed to allow the use of an orchestra pit in productions such as pantomimes and musicals, and there is an emergency exit to the side of the auditorium, leading out into the driveway alongside the Theatre.
The ground floor foyer has an entrance into the lower part of the auditorium as well as giving access to our box office, toilets and disabled toilet. There are stairs leading to the first floor. The first floor features an entrance into the upper part of the auditorium as well as a sweets/ice cream kiosk and our exhibition gallery.
An exhibition of local artistic talent is arranged every time a show is produced, and is free to view for anyone visiting the theatre.
Exhibitions can be professional or amateur, by individuals or groups, and are provided by artists from the local area. We welcome enquiries from anyone interested in exhibiting: depending on size, we look for ten to thirty paintings, photographs or craft works for each display.
Please contact us if you are interested in exhibiting your work.
From the first floor foyer you can ascend stairs to our lounge and coffee bar. The main bar is open on show nights from half an hour before the production begins, during the interval, and after the show. The coffee bar is open during intervals in productions, and it is also open to the public every Saturday morning from 10.30am-12.30pm, to coincide with box office opening hours.
